中医既是中国的传统医学,也是中国现代医学的重要组成部分。近代百年以来,中医的发展走过了崎岖之路,包括数次中医的存废之争。每次中医存废之争都由起初的中西医之争,走向了中西文化之争和医学建制之争,而每次中医转危为安,都得益于文化和建制力量的庇护,但并未从根本上解决中医的生存危机问题。只有全面探索中医的理论及实践的创新发展,努力实现21世纪中医“继承、创新、现代化、国际化”的国家发展目标,才能完成从传统中医到现代中医的历史转型,发挥传承中华文化功能,为世界医学和人类发展做出独特贡献。
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is not only a traditional medicine in Chinese, but also an important component ofmodern medicine in Chinese. Its development over the past century has gone through a bumpy path, including several debates overthe preservation and abolition of TCM. Every debate over the preservation and abolition of TCM has evolved from the initial debatebetween TCM and Western medicine to the debate over Chinese and Western culture, to the debate over the medical institution.However, every time TCM take a turn to be out of danger, it benefits from the protection of cultural and institutional forces, but it hasnot fundamentally solved the survival crisis of TCM. TCM, which has the function of inheriting Chinese culture, can completing thehistorical transformation from TCM to modern Chinese medicine (MCM) and making unique contributions to the development ofworld medicine and humanity through comprehensively exploring innovation development from the theory to practice of TCM, andhardly achieving the national development goals of “inheritance, innovation, odernization, and internationalization” of TCM in the21st century.
